Oppose Obama School Speech

I wouldn't call being able to watch Osama live, an opportunity. I also see that you waited until *after* the speech to post your comment. So apparently, you also weren't so sure he'd follow the posted speech. It's really easy to decide if someone was right or wrong, *after* the fact. My main objection was someone telling *me* what *my* child will watch/listen to. I watched, and recorded Osama's speech. *I* will decide whether or not my child watches it, not the school district, and certainly not Osama. It also may be an indication of a deeper problem...child abuse behind closed doors at home. It sounds like child protection services should be taking names and making some visits. TMT Child abuse??? For not letting your child watch a speech??? You also don't know much about parenting. Matt i find this strange. i would think throughout the television era if a president of the united states wanted to (were able to) pipe in a speech directly to school kids most everyone would think it was at least "ok" if not good, if not GREAT. i find it very hard to believe patriotic parents during eisenhower or kennedy would publicly express a negative opinion about an upcoming presidential speech. really. i'd think if nixon had announced he was going to deliver a speech directly to america's school kids, if some parents were to express the opinion that the DID NOT want their kids to see it they'd be shunned and ostracized by the community as unpatriotic hippy commie wackos. we really have become a polarized nation. you have read that george bush delivered a speech to america's school kids several years ago, right? |
