Palin stands by 'death panel' claim
RCM only

It's a how-to on preparing a personalized living will/durable health pact or power of attorney. What the hell is the problem with everyone? Crikey! -- You know, in about 40 years, we'll have literally thousands of OLD LADIES running around with TATTOOS, and Rap Music will be the Golden Oldies. Now that's SCARY! --Maxine |

Oh no..Twice in one year, I find myself in the somewhat uncomfortable position of agreeing with Larry Jaques on a political issue. I really doubt that anyone is bent out of shape about the idea of a living will / advance directive. They're bent out of shape by this fantasy that Palin and her cronies have come up with, solely to derail the conversation about health care reform. They don't give a **** about the tens of thousands of bankruptcies caused by healthcare costs run amuck. They don't care that my insurance premiums go up every year, and my services go down. And they certainly don't care about "grandma" getting her plug pulled. If they did, they'd be encouraging people to read this pamphlet (or one like it, which I picked up at my local hospital's web site) and talk about their futures and fill out the ****ing forms. If grandma wants her heart to be kept alive in a vat filled with a special solution (half blood, half sodium salicylate) [ten points for anyone who can 'name that tune'], she can put that in he living will. If she wants CPR but not defibrillation, she can write that down, too. Sure, it may be an uncomfortable conversation, but think about the **** that "grandma" would put her family through trying to guess what she would have wanted. Been there, done that, wasn't fun. My papers (and my wife's) are filled out and on file with our doctors, our hospital, and our next of kin. Yours should be, too. -- You know, in about 40 years, we'll have literally thousands of OLD LADIES running around with TATTOOS, and Rap Music will be the Golden Oldies. *Now that's SCARY! * * * * * * * --Maxine That time is already here. The scale keeps sliding, but the present has become the past and current events have become history. Same as it ever was. |

Palin and her following are behaving as they are because theknow, absolutely, that if a workable health-care system that covers all American's comes out of an Obama administration, they will be toast for quite a while. Our elected officials, and their hirelings, are in survival mode. It couldn't be simpler. What Sarah Palin, Chuck Grassley and the rest are deriding is government support for a dignified death after years of "dignified" tax paying. How could anyone not find that reasonable? -- John R. Carroll The answer is very clear. They simply don't give a **** about anyone but themselves. |
