This is the Tenth Amendment raising its head again, over a new issue. Last time it was over marijuana, in the Rodriguez case. The Justice Dept. probably is driving the government's position, which will be, as it almost always is, to uphold the law as it stands. It's hard to imagine that those state laws will succeed in a Supreme Court case, because the Rodriguez case was decided 8:1, just four years ago. Not to worry, Obama has surpassed his political capital. His healthcare non-plan is swirling the drain. Democrats in Congress are looking at their own re-elections being tied to Obama's failures and are jumping ship. Obama, Pelosi, Reid and others had no intentions of anything other than controlling 17% GDP. The next to go down will be the climate power grab. Gun rights are too far down the list and Democrats won't need to seize our guns if they can't achieve the totalitarian governance they crave. |
