Dick Cheney wants attack
"Hawke" wrote in message ... "When you read behind it," Panetta said, "it's almost as if he's wishing that this country would be attacked again, in order to make his point. I think that's dangerous politics." ] "I hope my old friend Leon was misquoted. The important thing is whether the Obama administration will continue the policies that have kept us safe for the last eight years." -Dick Cheney Such as torturing out confessions of "WMDs" in Iraq so as to start those much-wanted wars .... (without which both herr shrubbie & SureShot would have been impeached by the end of their second year in office). 9-11 was REAL handy !!! -- Cliff The wingers are always bragging that the Bush administration kept us safe for the last eight years. But then, does anyone know if bin Laden and al Qaeda actually initiated any actual attacks against us since 9/11? Or was the one all al Qaeda really tried? Point is, since we don't know if al Qaeda even tried again how can anyone say they were successful at keeping us safe? If no attacks were attempted you can't say you were successful at stopping attacks that never were attempted. That doesn't stop Cheney from taking credit though even if nothing he did actually had any effect. The other thing the wingers never mention is that after the 1st attack on the WTC in 1993, when Clinton was in office, there were no more attacks in this country either. So you could say whatever Clinton did between the 1993 attack and the end of his presidency he kept us safe too, but he didn't have to resort to torture or starting wars to do it. Funny thing though, I never hear republicans giving Clinton credit for keeping us safe for eight years, only for Bush/Cheney. Clinton kept us safe here for eight years too but not one word about how good a job he did. Not a surprise. Hawke when cheney talks on tv i wonder why people don't realize "the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence". just because there were no attacks does not mean his administration had anything to do with it. i never heard that argument before, clinton "keeping us safe". wow. lol. good one. no, really, i mean, as a reply to bush administration supporters. hysterical. wow, "bill clinton kept us safe from terrorist attacks"! lol! seemed obvious to me when cheney spoke a couple weeks ago about obama moving in the wrong direction it was political posturing, setting the groundwork for the day when there is another attack for republicans to gain political advantage, really, almost as if he was HOPING for an attack. b.w. |

Odd...when the US is broke, bankrupt and has turned into a red section and a lame, starving blue section comprised of screaming ignorant buffoons..Ill bet the attacks really start hammering home. Gunner "Lenin called them "useful idiots," those people living in liberal democracies who by giving moral and material support to a totalitarian ideology in effect were braiding the rope that would hang them. Why people who enjoyed freedom and prosperity worked passionately to destroy both is a fascinating question, one still with us today. Now the useful idiots can be found in the chorus of appeasement, reflexive anti-Americanism, and sentimental idealism trying to inhibit the necessary responses to another freedom-hating ideology, radical Islam" Bruce C. So, what Cheney recommends is that we provide them with what they want, confrontation. At the cost of thousands of US military lives. In effect, his policies are appeasing fanatical Muslims. Lets deny them the very thing they crave by refusing to fight. -- Paul Hovnanian ------------------------------------------------------------------ Marching to a different kettle of fish. |

Its fascinating how some people like Paul simply dont have a grasp of Real Life. One supposes that he lives in a gated community and has a minder. Most folks with his world view when out in public without a minder..sooner or later wander in front of a bus and are killed. pyotr - pyotr filipivich We will drink no whiskey before its nine.
