As one Republican lawmaker told Novak, GOP leaders champion an “anti-
union attitude that appeals to the mentality of hillbillies at revival
meetings.”

The hostility, while disgusting, is unsurprising. Unions wield power
for workers, meaning they present an obstacle to Republican corporate
donors, who want to put profit-making over other societal priorities.

Why don't unions use their huge reserves of cash and buy or start their OWN
companies and pay themselves huge salaries? It would seem to be the perfect
solution! American companies making products with happy union workers.
They should be able to offset imports and drive the competition into the
ground. Then they could buy those companies cheap, hire more workers into
the unions. Pretty soon, ALL workers in the world will be union, rich and
perfectly happy. This could translate to worldwide peace!

Why hasn't anyone thought of this before? I'm a genius!

Funny. I've worked nearly forty years overseas where there wasn't the
smell of a union and been paid far above union scale the whole time...
of course I knew my business. Is that the difference?

Sounds good! But have you ever tried to start a company and make it

world you have no idea how tough it is to make money in business. 90% of all
new businesses fail in the first 3 years. So there you have your answer. If
unions started their own companies most of them would fail and they would
just lose money. Why do you think most people work for others instead of

Nope, you're wrong. If you are talking about indigenous people, most
people over here that work their asses off are not bright enough to
have their own business - that's why they are working their asses off.

One of the major problems in being in business in Asia is that all the

aaah, wes??? based on course work, observation, and reading, it seems to me
that unions arise when management provides an environment that the workers
see as exploitive or unfair - when those doing the work are happy and feel
they are treated fairly, there is generally no unionization. Now, once
started, the process, being built on mutual antagonism and mistrust is very
difficult to reverse.

Evolved?

They went from a social good to a social evil in only a few generations.

Thats called degeneration.

Hence Union members are degenerates.

Mentality of Hillbillies

It speaks volumes about union workers who won't buy the products they
build.

There are two kinds of people on this earth:
The crazy, and the insane.
The first sign of insanity is denying that you're crazy.

aaah, wes??? based on course work, observation, and reading, it seems to me
that unions arise when management provides an environment that the workers
see as exploitive or unfair - when those doing the work are happy and feel
they are treated fairly, there is generally no unionization. Now, once
started, the process, being built on mutual antagonism and mistrust is very
difficult to reverse.

Henry Ford made great strides in compensating his workmen. What did that get him? Yup, a
union.
