When I got my Colchester I called the Mobil oil dealer (actually MSC)
and asked them for equivalent. I was ordering it from them too.

Now I'm wondering if I wrote down which was which or if I'm going to
have to call again when I top up the feed gearbox which leaks a bit :(

I have to call for the oil for the EE10 anyway. I think these old
lathes are like shapers, once you buy one they seem to proliferate if
you aren't really careful.

We use Mobil DTE 32 for the headstock and Way Lube 68 or Vactra 2 for the
apron.
Been using those for over 10 years in a machine that runs 8 hrs. a day
without any problem.

Thank's Paul, do you think I need to drain whats left in the reservoir
before switching to DTE 32 or is mixing OK?.

That is best in case the previous owner/user used automotive oils that
grind lathes down. The issue is detergents that keep material in solution.
You want it to drop out.

I use the same stuff for my surface grinders and lathe.

T.Alan,
I would drain it also for the reason Martin stated and if it hasn't been
drained before there
is probably a fair amount of metal fines in the bottom of the reservoir.
