FWIW--------------------- To locate your representative and to use their web mail click on http://www.house.gov/ Be sure to bookmark this and your representative's web-mail site To locate your senators and to use their web mail click on http://senate.gov/ Be sure to bookmark this site and your senators' web-mail sites. If you find Fallon's forced resignation causes cold chills, feel free to adapt the following email I just sent to my Representative and Senators. ============= NO WIDER WAR -- NO MORE WARS -- NOT IN THE MID EAST -- NOT IN LATIN AMERICA! -- NOT IN AFRICA! As a member of Congress you have sworn an oath to "uphold, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic." This now requires you to rise above party and act in the best interests of the People and Nation. {My senators and representative are republicans -- you may need to edit.} Admiral Fallon's forced resignation as head of the Central Command clearly indicates the administration's determination to wage yet another pre-emptive war in violation of not only the most basic tacit ethical standards of civilized countries, but those of the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg, where several individuals were hanged for plotting, provoking and conducting exactly this sort of aggressive war. Ignoring the overwhelming ethical and moral considerations, the United States does not have the required ground forces, material, or financial resources to successfully wage a war against Iran UNLESS NUCLEAR WEAPONS ARE TO BE EMPLOYED, AND EVEN THEN, ONLY IF ADEQUATE SUPPLIES OF PETROLEUM CAN BE ASSURED. The President's and Vice-President's mental health is of increasing concern, and this has all the appearance of an effort to stage a götterdämmerung finale, to create a situation to retain power because of the "war emergency," or simply to divert attention from the economic crisis. I am therefore urgently requesting that you and Congress take emergency and extraordinary action to forestall, estop and prevent this rush to yet another war, which has the potential to not only bankrupt the United States, but to turn the entire world against us. In this case, and in view of the continuous circumvention of the Constitution by the administration, a direct appeal to the armed forces by a resolution of Congress (either or both houses), or even a resolution signed by a significant number of members if a majority cannot be obtained, bypassing the normal chain of command, appears to be fully justified. http://www.breitbart.com/article.php...cle=1&catnum=0 ============= Unka' George [George McDuffee] ------------------------------------------- He that will not apply new remedies, must expect new evils: for Time is the greatest innovator: and if Time, of course, alter things to the worse, and wisdom and counsel shall not alter them to the better, what shall be the end? Francis Bacon (1561-1626), English philosopher, essayist, statesman. Essays, "Of Innovations" (1597-1625). |
