What is it -203
 

1122 is definitely NOT a surveyors tape.
My guess is that is for measuring the circumference of a round, vertical
tank----the brass vernier can be dropped to hold its place while you
walk around the tank...
The tape is probably marked every 6 inches to which you can add another
6 inches measured to the nearest 1/16"-------???????
