Like CBS and Dan Rather? Dan Rather is gone, and CBS apologized for not paying closer attention to what was going on. The Slimes? What are "the Slimes"? It sounds like your favorite Web sites and blogs. Exploding gas tanks? The network apologized, and, to quote: "The following Dateline NBC producers were dismissed: Jeff Diamond, executive producer; David Rummel, senior producer; and Robert Read, producer of the report on the pickups. Michele Gillen, the reporter involved in the segment, was transferred to Miami station WTVL. Michael G. Gartner, president of the news division, resigned under pressure." Alar? What about it? It's banned by the EPA, and the World Health Organization concurs that it poses an unacceptable risk in children. That's not to say that the agriculture industry, after paying millions for PR agencies to muddy the waters, didn't create quite a stir. But you're over your head on this one, Gunner. If you have any "cites," make sure they're peer-reviewed, because most of it is junk perpetuated by right-wing industry apologists. In contrast, what's happened to the people who fed you the stuff about the CCW law in Texas? Any apologies for publishing misleading information? Any firings? No? Gee, what a surprise. -- Ed Huntress |
