Maximum face mill diameter for R8 spindle
I'd like to add an indexable face mill, preferably
6" diameter to my mill tooling. Will an R8 spindle handle that diameter without excessive flexing and chatter? |

You've got two chances, slim and none. I got one this size for my NMTB40 4 hp. Excello and I can only do very light cuts. This machine just LOVES a 3" sandvick R390 face mill. Make PILES o' chips fast. Inserts do make a huge diference on the large diameter face mills. karl |
