Mexico attacked us and we responded in kind. A war.
The French and Indian war was against us.
The British attacked us after the war - 1812.
Cuba threatened us with the bomb with the aid of the Soviets - a.k.a. USSR.
Japan bombed, landed, murdered and laid waste to some of the Alaskan islands.
It was a diversion during Perl harbor.
Japan landed on American land - Philippines and enslaved them.

To name a few.

They also shelled the West coast with atillary from ships as well.

Then of course...every American Embassy or base is considered American
Soil...and we have had a host of attacks on such over the years, with
a large loss of life.
