Default Reliant DD90 Drill press

Reliant DD90 Drill press. Anybody got any poop on this drill press. It has
a 1hp motor and has four speeds and takes a 93" blade. Questions:

What the slowest speed in fpm? Throat size and maximum cut? table size?
Guides/fence?
If the speed is too high for metal, is the motor arrangement suitable to an
easy counter-shaft conversion? Any experiencewith making some reasonably
accurate cuts in 2x5" aluminum extrusion? Spindle taper? Any manuals?
Age? Any poop appreciated?

Boris

It's a low end saw designed for woodworking. It won't have a
suitable speed range, and the wheels are designed for a
variety of widths of bandsaw blades -- which won't track on
metal like the fixed-width ones do. And you won't have a
suitable vise.

I wouldn't use this as a metal saw.

Thank's. Wasn't for me, but for my nephew. Found it on a website and I
concur with your assessment completely .. but he bought it already. A case
of buy first, ask later.

Boris.

Well ... he can probably use it on aluminum, at least. :-)

Enjoy,
DoN.
