Not surprising. Parma, OH is a suburb of Cleveland.

It had a large percentage of Polish/other Eastern European ethnic
families who seemed to favor yard art consisting of pink flamingos,
chrome balls, etc.

It _is_ somewhat of an "in" joke around the Cleveland/Akron OH area, but
all in fun.

One of the more popular people on Cleveland TV is Big Chuck Shadowski
who sometimes plays a Polish character named Stash. Stash embodies the
consummate Polish joke and has made Shadowski a well-known and popular
TV personality.

Another _very_ popular personality is Little John Rinaldi. a Cleveland
jeweler who's about 3-1/2 feet tall. He and Shadowski host the Friday
(Saturday?)* Night late movie. Those two together have a way of making
the tiredest, oldest, most bewhiskered, and clean jokes somehow fresh
and funny again.
