Size A flashback arrestors, unobtainium?

Howdy all
Please advise:
I am putting together a small (3/16ths? size A hoses) O/A rig for
welding & brazing and am a bit concerned with safety issues. I have
searched, but nowhere do I see (torch end) size A check valve/flashback
arrestors for sale. The local welding supply places do not seem to
carry size A arrestors. If I get size B with adapters, it'll be as
clumsy for lil work as my big victor set.

Q: Are they necessary to operate my torch safely for welding?
If so, where do I find size A? I would prefer torch end style.

I have a dandy, tiny old Uniweld handle which I bought used at a
pawnshop; it came with a blown-out cutting attachment; the previous
unknown user must had quite a thrill the day the back fire occurred in
the cutting attachment and the heavy-wall tube exploded in his hand.
I'm a low drama type, allergic to avulsions & such, hence would like to
keep all ten of my thumbs. I've bought new victor welding tips for this
handle, so have new O rings.
Thanks in advance, for any suggestions.

Try the Tinman
http://www.tinmantech.com/index.php

He doesn't show flash arrestors on his site, but he may have them
anyway since he offers Meco torches with A-size fittings and hoses.

In article .com, jmcman
says...

My first look would be at Western Enterprises.
