Oddly enough..there are around 30 million Americans addicted to
perscription meds, with about another 7 million regular or addicted
users of non perscription drugs.

I have a 26 yr old son, a one time crank addict (3 yrs clean) and help
out with various individuals, taking them to NA meetings etc, a number
call me at all hours. Fortunately Ive never had drug or drink problem,
though I did my share as a kid, but know quite a number whom do.

Limbaugh made the effort several years ago, on his own to kick the
habit, unsucessfuly (which is not surprising..most folks take several
attempts) and with luck, will stay clean after this go round. He has
been quite open about it since it was made public, and has been quite
effective recently, given the numbers of callers to his show, in getting
other closet addicts to seek treatment.

I would expect you to call Betty Ford, Lisa Minellie, etc etc loud fat
assed hypocrits also, right? I fail to recall you saying similar about
Bill Clinton, who's convicted drug dealer brother Roger, has said was
nicknamed Hoover for Bills ability to snort up lines of coke. Ever
wonder why he is the only president in recent history to have not
released his medical records? Perhaps the blown out and repaired septum
from over usage of coke might spoil the image?

Did those 30 million people get rich partly by blabbering on the radio
about how all drug abusers should be jailed? Four paragraphs of
diversion..... I take it you're not going to admit that he's a
hypocrite? I gotta' hand it to him, he makes a good living tapping into
the frustrations of the ah... easily swayed, the sort who'll forgive
their hero for just about anything while not missing a beat lashing out

if MJ had spent some time caterwauling about Hillary he'd have more

In a just world Rush would volunteer for the sort of punishment he's so
thoughtlessly advocated for others. But you'll notice that he has yet to
admit violating any laws. That tells us that he's keeping his legal
options open so that he can wiggle out of any potential charges. He'll
get out of this after suffering lots of embarrassment, but that's hardly
punishment since his life's work is an embarrassment anyway. And he
shouldn't have much trouble convincing listeners that Clinton, not
drugs, caused the hearing loss.

What jurisdiction in this country puts first time, prescription drug abusers
in the can?
The jails are semi full of drug offenders, but first offenders? No way, they
do time on the second or third or fourth arrest, sometimes it takes more
than that. And prescription drug abuse rates quite a bit lower that illegal
drug abuse.

Few people addicted to prescription meds, as a result of a medical
condition, ever see the inside of a courtroom. Fact of life. If so..we
would have several million old men and ladies etc etc every year on the
docket.

I recall Limbaugh lambasting those whom were doing recreational
pharmacuticals for fun, but if you can point out where he said anything
about collateral addictions, please point it out.

In fact many people are addicted to something and don't even know it.

Had a coke today - oh the caffeine crave - headaches ?

Really so many people take a regular dose of something every day that
only
when they run out or such do they find out.

Many storage home drugs down the residents to stop or limit problems.

How many are addicted to 'smokes'.

My son had a fractured spine. It was years before it healed to the
extent
he didn't want or demand to have something - he and we took the brunt as
the pain killer was limited in a dot dash mode through the week. He
didn't
come away with a permanent craving.
