If your server doesn't like the size of the files (11) or didn't retain it for you, it can be downloaded at http://www.kozan.us/distn/distln-std.pdf. Chapters, contents, and figures are bookmarked. An HTML version with the pages bookmarked as well and linked to the index is available at http://www.kozan.us/distn/distillation.htm. The HTML version is ca. 35MB, the PDF ca. 5MB. I'll host the files until the end of October. After that, email me. If you want it in M$ Word format or just can't live without the original scans, drop me a line as well. If one of the four regulars who aren't dwelling in Tim May's killfile would care to respond to this post, quoting the pertinent sections, maybe His Obnoxiousness would find it useful too. What did I do wrong with the pdf? I'm open to any suggestions for cleaning it up or making it more "user friendly" except I'm just too damn lazy to go through the source doc file and bookmark every page. Aside from that, how can I improve it? TK -- Cogito ergo bibo |

Looked pretty good to me. Asside from a little obsolete English it made
me think about finding some oats and barly to try for my own single malt. :-) TDKozan wrote: "Loren Coe" wrote in message newsLAib.755268$Ho3.193384@sccrnsc03... | In article , Eastburn wrote: | Thanks - we all may have to go to this in our old age :-) | Martin | | a good 2nd step would be for someone to write an "Idiot's | Guide" to that pdf. has anyone really tried to read it? | | the html is a better way to go if you can handle the size. | Read it all too many times trying to proof the OCR from the scans. TK -- Cogito ergo bibo hmmm, scans, OCR? it sounds like you are making work, or just a couple of generations behind on the current tech.offerings. wrt to the pdf, maybe you need a later adobe? if you cannot see it on the screen, printing will only make it worse. OCR is not going to help. even with a slow connection, try to grab the html version. sometimes you can just open it in place, w/o downloading the whole file. that would give you some really decent navigation tools. --Loren |

Did the HTML version by export from M$ Word as well, just didn't bookmark the pages to the DOC file, waited (my mistake) until after the HTML export. I'll bite, what am I missing? I'm open to any suggestions for cleaning it up or i apologize, i didn't mean _just_ the pdf, which is fine. the origional text is pretty technical, and too wordy (imho). and i didn't realize until now that you are the op. the html makes it easier to use and refer back/forward. no, great stuff(!), sorry for giving the wrong impression.
