Default THIS is a linear bearing??

Awl--

Got my linear bearings from MSC--goodgawd--
basically *thin bronze bushings* in a fancy anodized aluminum shell!!
No balls, so to speak.... 3/8" id, 5/8" OD.
Should still work, but my question is, Am I any better off w/ these $31
"linears" than I woulda been w/ $1 oil-lite bushings???

Proly cain't afford real ball-bearing linears, which is what I thought I
would be getting......

Well, looking at the specs it's pretty obvious that there's hardly any
room for ball bearings. Only 1/8 wall. And you're right, those $1.00
oilite bushings would have done just as well. What's your application?
It may be that plastic bushings would work better.

Don't know what you got but we used some linear bearings about the same
size that were teflon lined. Needed polished shafts, were very low
friction and very high tolerances.
