Dividing head spindle tapers.

Who makes a dividing head with a taper that is still in common use for
other things?

I'm sick of seeing these heads with BS tapers(pun maliciously intended)
and little in the way of collets and attachments for them. And noone
seems to make cheap import attachments like emergency collets for the
BS tapers either.

For example, does anyone make a universal dividing head with a 5C taper?

Hardinge makes a 5C dividing head, used ones go for between 500-800 dollars.
Personally i use a K&T dividing head with a 50 Taper bore, also have a
cincinatti
with a 40 taper bore as a back up. K&T or cincinatti head run 100-300 on
ebay,
they are industrial strength and have the iron to prove it, the shipping is
usually more
than the cost of the head. There is plenty of 40 and 50 taper tooling
available for
cheap if you look hard.

Best Regards
Tom.
