Magnetic Chip Removal System Needed.

I'm currently trying to develop a system to remove some 5140 steel chips off the part magnetically. I know the part weighs about 9.4 lbs and I'd need to remove about a hand full of chips per part. The cycle time is about 1min 30secs, so the volume is not that great. I cannot use a magnetic conveyor; it has to be some type of rotating magnetic assembly over the top of the part that can clear the chips by itself some how. I was just wondering if anybody has any ideas or if you have a similar situation? Maybe someone out there sells something I could use?? Any help is appreciated. Thanks. I vaguely recall something in one of the "science" hobby magazines from about 40 years ago (Popular Science?) about making a very strong electromagnet with a wound AC primary and a very high current secondary made from Silver washers. IIRC You melted down Silver dollars to make the washers ... or drilled holes in them ... A spare M code could power the primary on & off I suppose ...
