Agree, Mike. The recent "power outtage" (I'm being kind here) underlines a
problem with free enterprize as practiced in the U.S. IMO, it is graphic
evidence showing the need for federal control, if ever there was one.
Someone said, "The U.S. is a first class world power with a third world
power system" - or something to that effect. National security transcends
free enterprize when, errrr, welll, national security is in jeopardy.

Gee, and here I thought it was some UFO from afar that sucked up all the
power.

Ah, those geniuses of free-market economics. They
proved that with enough texas politician help, they
could rape anyone, and get away with it for quite
some time.

My favorite LBJ story: His entourage stopped in the middle
of a trip by the roadside, and everyone got out. LBJ
was peeing, and an aid piped up and said, 'excuse me
sir, you're urinating on my shoes.' LBJ reportedly
replied:

"That, son, is my perrogative!"

LBJ also "broke in" a new female White House newspersons my taking them on a
tour of the LBJ Ranch, and intentionally showing her all the bulls' penises,
and he capped off his tour by showing her his penis as well.

What has me scratching my head is how RPGs got into this thread. Is that
what they call creating a distraction? g

Nah, I was doing some research for another newsgroup, and was reading
that bit of dreck, so decided to give the readers something a bit
more factual and more interesting.

Well, yeah, that'd be LBJ all right.

Personally, I wouldn't set myself up for that kind of comparison- perhaps
I'd show them the prairie dogs first. LBJ must have been a Texan in every
aspect.

I'm not an LBJ fan all of the way by any means. However
I don't think this is a likely event. The love for Ladybird
was strong. He would rather shoot someone instead.
Or make a side deal on 1000 fertilizer tanks in West Texas
for the cotton farms with his buddy. He was power hungry type,
not a lady killer. JFK was the lady killer.

Some operator - big man in many ways.

Most don't speak well of him - some are afraid of the closets.

He did, and never got credit for it - drive the civil rights
bill through the house and get his friend drive it in the Senate.

He used a lot of credits from years of bargains. I'm sorry to say
the war took all credit away. But that is his great item in life.

LBJ went into politics poor, and came out rich.
