Value/use of hydraulic pumps fr auto lifts...
Awl--
I currently have 2 "Rotary" brand 2 hp hydraulic pump motors w/ approx. 2 gal reservoirs, levers, 'n'alladat... Are these things expensive, valuable, otherwise useful?? Admittedly missed Ignoramus' thread on hydraulics, been meaning to catch it! I have dibbs on 4 more, altho I don't know if they are Rotary brand. They came off some substantial-sized car lifts, much too big for me to entertain, altho I'd love one in my driveway! Been thinking vaguely of building a lift for my car. Pumps, a ram, some iron, chain, and a plug! I guess i'd have to be the guinea-pig-mechanic, eh? Passed on that Allis Chalmers motor--probably woulda burnt down my house, starting it up! Mebbe blacked out my block! ---------------------------- Mr. P.V.'d formerly Droll Troll |
So, did I waste my money???? :)

Surplus Sales and Northern Hydraulics to look at the handful like yours they sell. The pumps, I believe, are sort of common arrangements with various equipment, like electric log splitters, assorted styles of lifts, machinery, and so forth. I'm sure Rotary just puts their name on them, but I'm not sure. I doubt it's worth their money to have a private line when there's lots of competition out there for just that stuff. |
