Best way to anchor a tripod TV antenna mount on a house roof?
 

What's the best way to anchor a tripod TV antenna mount (Radio Shack) on a
house roof?
I'm concerned about roof leaks and legs pulling loose.

I am on high ground where the wind hits. I need a fringe 100 mile sized
antenna, will it hold up.
Had one on the garage that held up for around 25 years without guy wires,
finally one leg began pulling loose..

Make sure any screws you use to attach legs, brackets, guy wire bolts go
into the roof rafter beams not just the roof decking material. If this is
not practical, you can install blocking inside the attic to reinforce the
fastner.

Be sure to use some sort of outdoor weatherproofing cement when you mount
it. Be generous with it.

If you really have high winds then the tripod mount is not what you want.

Last one I put up, I used 15 feet of 1.25 inch IMC, cause I had it. Screwed
it together and used the 10 foot piece down with the antenna attached to the
5 foot piece. I use 3 of the brackets third picture. I drilled a hole in
my roof at the over hang and ran the pipe through that. Sealed the roof with
lots of wet roofing cement and had 3 braces underneath attached to the
house. I had about 8 feet above the roof line and it held up for 9 years
until I moved. I was using the biggest antenna that I could buy.

There are brackets made for chimneys that strap around the chimney.

What! You want to watch TV for free and not get sucked into cable or
satellite? The commercials on cable are much better than the commercials on
broadcast TV.

Go for the guy wires, stronger is better.
