Its not so much a matter of code. What wattage is the unit. A dedicated 15
amp circuit is good for a max of 12 amps. Most over the stove units will
require a dedicated 20 amp circuit

What does your use&care manual say?

*Usually* a problem with the unit will trip the breaker right away,
tripping after a while is oftne a weak breaker or undersized or too
many things on the same line.

You have something wrong with your microwave. Or a really really high
wattage one (unlikely). Easier to just get a new one and put it on
it's own circuit.
