Richard:
RJ We have a basement classroom at my church that has a problem with water RJ leakage causing mold. Is there something we can paint or spray on the RJ inside of the block to stop water from seeping in? RJ RJ I thought of covering the wall with some compound, then putting up lath, RJ covering with a moisture barrier film and then using wallboard. RJ RJ Does that make sense? We would appreciate helpful suggestions. Preferably get rid of whatever is causing the water to build up and seep though the blocks. Relandscape, french drain, etc., come to mind. If that's not overly practical do what I did here. There is a concrete sealer I think called DryLok. They frequently have a display with a two-hole concrete block with running water. One half of the block is painted with DryLock (or whatever it's called) and the other half left raw. The painted side is dry, the unpainted side is wet. The stuff comes in gallon containers and is painted on (use a brush). Before application make sure any cracks and other voids are filled. Clean surface if dirty/greasy. I used it here in my basement and years before Dad used it in his. BTW, the 'paint' is a white colour -- looks good enough for my workbench area! - ¯ barry.martinþATþthesafebbs.zeppole.com ® * Don't accept dog's admiration as conclusive evidence you are wonderful. --- þ RoseReader 2.52á P003186 þ The Safe BBS þ Bettendorf, IA 563-359-1971 --- þ RIMEGate(tm)/RGXMod V1.13 at BBSWORLD * |
