closet ideas
Buying an old cape -- only drawback is a lack of closet room. Would welcome
suggestions -- especially how to add additional closet space in the existing upstairs bedrooms. Thank you. |
Obviously without any additional information on the size of the room,
window/door layout, we can't give much help, but there is are many 'closet organizing systems' available to help make the most of limited space. Some ideas: - wall in a corner or end of the room to make a new closet, or enlarge an existing one. - use a 'pocket door' or sliding doors to help keep door swing from being an issue - buy a 'wardrobe' (piece of furniture) to use rather than an actual closet. - if the Cape has 'kneewalls' check the avvailable free space behind them, look for a dormer or other unused space that the builder might have felt was too small to use so he just walled it off. -raise the roof to make more room. good luck. I agree with one of the other posters idea.............get an armoir
or wardrobe. I have plenty of space in my closet, but use an old art deco Armoir to hang out of season stuff in and store other garments not in season. It's also portable and can be moved around the room to help make "the arramgement" Remove "YOURPANTIES" to reply MUADIB® http://www.angelfire.com/retro/sster...IN%20PAGE.html one small step for man,..... We have an old home. I made organizers for the two skinny
closets. I made clothes racks and shelves for one small room upstairs, previously a nusery, for clothing and linen storage. My next project is buying or building an armoir/wardrobe for the master bedroom.
