Default Anchor Hocking versus Pyrex oven save glass measuring cups

Do you have a preference?
Why?

Walmart sells Anchor Hocking.
Bed Bath & Beyond sells Pyrex.

Maybe due to the store (or not?) Walmart is cheaper.
Bed Bath & Beyond is more than double the price.

If you're going to buy a full set (with duplicates) the cost can add up.
Hence the question.

The Anchor Hocking and Pyrex measuring cups I had dribbled down the sides of the cup and made a mess if you tried to pour a liquid slowly.

However, these no-name cups don't make a mess when pouring:

Yes. They do.

However, these no-name cups don't make a mess when pouring:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089CW35VY

But look at the prices.

$16 iFlower 16oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089CW35VY
$13 Pyrex 8oz https://www.walmart.com/ip/Pyrex-Pre...Clear/33158667
(I couldn't find a 16 oz cup so expect it to be around the same as the iFlower)
$4 A/H 16oz https://www.walmart.com/ip/Anchor-Ho...Ounce/14938488

And that's a 4x price difference for just for one measuring cup.

I see that Pyrex is no longer made of borosilicate glass and may not
differ from the Anchor Hocking glass. I would buy the cheaper.

Wow! It must be good!

And what about this

https://www.amazon.com/Water-Rocket-...KNG/ref=sr_1_7

Water rocket. One for $22.99, two 98.98, three 148.98, four 188.98

The 22.99 price is in 3 places.

To complicate things further (maybe, since this story is from 1961), my
mother had a glass measuring cup pretty much like these, and when my
brother was in medical school, he measured the volume with something
from the chem lab and it was off by 20% or more.

I don't know he would do this unless maybe some professor mentioned it
in class.

Not in our house. Each of us does the tasks to which our capabilities
are most suited. Cooking and cleaning might be done by either of us.

We're remodeling the kitchen. Yesterday I primed the walls and ceiling,
then mowed the lawn, none of which requires any particular skill. He's
in charge of mechanicals, because he has skills there that I don't.

Oh, and everybody has to check that the toilet seat is configured properly
for their own use. None of that "men have to put the seat down" bull****
in our family.

Same here, besides Don loves to cook! Other times, he likes to watch

We're remodeling the kitchen. Yesterday I primed the walls and

Oh, and everybody has to check that the toilet seat is configured

EEEKK! I trained him to always leave the bottom part down after some

Even you should be able check if the seat
is down before parking your lard arse on it.

I don't know about Oz but it's the young ones here in the States that
have the lard butts. The mature ones still have figures.

Two words: night light

Enough light to see the seat position and to aim. Unless you think
him listening for the sound of urine hitting water or floor is sufficiently
precise.

Another solution is to install a GFCI outlet with led night light.

Real men don't measure ingredients when cooking; they just eyeball
estimate how much is needed ;-)
Heh.

Real men don't worry about it. If they want to measure, they measure.

When I go into a public restroom, I typically leave the seat up. Unfortunately,
all the people that I'm being nice to don't realize it.

Woman or man, if you had to sit down to relieve to yourself, which would
you rather do:

Put the seat down or wipe off the **** from the previous jerk who couldn't
take the trouble to lift the seat up?

Men: The next time you need to take a leak, leave the seat up.

Men and Women: The next time you find the seat left up, think of me.

Oh, and everybody has to check that the toilet seat is configured properly

I guess it's ok to call it bull**** when you use the words "have to". In my case,
it's a "want to". The wife and I are empty nesters. I put the seat down for her
because I *want to* not because I have to.

One word: Dimmer

All bedrooms and bathrooms in my house have dimmers.

All of our floor lamps used to be dimmable via Alexa, but all it took
was a couple of WiFi outages and SWMBO said "Be gone with them!"

Her: "I hate talking to the lamps in the first place. I hate it even more when
they don't listen."

Using old school 50-100-150 3-ways now.

I agreed he could leave the seat up because I *want to*, not because I have to.

I'm quite confident there are women who would pitch a bitch if the husband
left the seat up. That's why I called it "bull****". Any grown-up should be
able to ensure the seat is in the correct position before using the toilet.
