I note that big business tends to favor big government as that is where
the money is.

Talk about bias, "And that's how creeping banana republic socialism
comes at you: first slowly, then fast. "

At least he uses the word "now" but nowhere in the article was it clear,
or even apparent, that "now" is temporary, and the financial alternative
was a recession like not seen since the Depression or earlier. Not to
mention the non-financial problems, which I guess hedge-fund investors
don't worry about.

As an aside, he also doesn't know what a banana republic is. He lists
*only* Turkey, China, and Russia, none of which are. Apparently he likes
the word because it's insulting, without caring why.

If you raise taxes on Walmart and Amazon, they'll both increase merchandise prices to compensate.
So who do you think is the real payer of corporate taxes?

Plus international corporations will structure business so they pay less
tax in US and that includes off shore production and loss of US jobs.
Like now, most GM cars are assembled outside the USA. Someone said one
had only 7% of its parts made in the USA. Janet Yellen was sent around
the world to try to tell governments they should all tax corporations
the same. Fat chance.

A big or graduated capital gains tax may come as a big surprise to
homeowners that sell their home without buying another as they end up
paying half the capital gain to the government.

That's something idiot liberals don't understand since they have no concept
of economics or the way that business works. Taxes are an overhead cost that
is passed on to the customer, just like the electric bill. So when liberal
scum scream about corporations "paying their fair share" what the end result
is the WalMart customer pays higher prices.

Liberals are like the dog excrement one might accidentally step into,
but smell worse and are less intelligent.

If you raise taxes on Walmart and Amazon,

Biden isnt doing that, essentially because those operations can
and do trivially avoid paying income and capital gains taxes.

they'll both increase merchandise prices to compensate.

Increasing the tax that Bezos, Walton or Glass pay won't see
merchandise prices increased to pay for the increased tax if
any they end up paying.

So who do you think is the real payer of corporate taxes?

We arent talking about corporate taxes.

They have already done that.

and that includes off shore production and loss of US jobs.

They have already done that.

Like now, most GM cars are assembled outside the USA.

So Biden pulling the plug on Trump's tax cut for the wealthy
won't make any difference.

Someone said one had only 7% of its parts made in the USA.

Janet Yellen was sent around the world to try to tell governments they

Fat chance.

True, but that is nothing new.

A big or graduated capital gains tax may come as a big surprise to
homeowners that sell their home without buying another as they end up
paying half the capital gain to the government.

Why would they sell without buying another ?

If they raise their prices the "little guys" will be able to
under-cut them - which will force them to lower their prices and
settle for lower profits.

Only in the imagination of far-right libertarians.

The same (Bulgarian) group that just tweeted that last years California Wildfire
was started to conceal a murder.

Try to be a bit more discerning.

The article is simply stating the obvious, that during the pandemic,
the stimulus payments fulfilled their purpose of covering the income
of those who lost employment due to the pandemic.

Even the data they cite doesn't support the headline.
