walk over and take the officers gun and start shooting real bullets.

I have brought that up several times in other cases. A cop also has a
duty to protect his gun from being taken by a perpetrator.

giventhe 1 in a thousanf (being charitable here) chance he could
actually HIT the copm and the less than 50% chance he'f hit something
other than the cop's protective clothing - the chances of him getting
the gun would be approaching one in a million

I have brought that up several times in other cases. A cop also has a
duty to protect his gun from being taken by a perpetrator.
Then they should not be using "open holsters" and they should not
have the gun out od the holster when the situation does not clearly
require it's use. Your southern cops unholster their gun for traffic
stops. If a Canadian cop unholsters his gun - he has paperwork to do.
(and that still doesn't stop cops being stupid)

Do you have evidence that the cop who shot this skunk knew it was a taser
that he had stolen from the other cop? How about if he thought it was his
gun or he was unsure?
