My electronics training is from 40 years ago and I never worked at the component level, so while I know how to read a schematic and can identify the components, I don't claim to be an expert at determining how anything works. |

My vote would be no, it's not a copy, but I'm pretty rusty. 40 years away from it really takes a toll. -- Have you been approached by David Brooks (DB, ~DB~, and 50+ other nyms)? So do you understand the circuit then, David? I doubt I would. I've not studied it either. The fact you doubt you would isn't very encouraging, David. It isn't a complicated design. I realize some of the components didn't exist in their present form when you were trained, but your training should have provided you with the ability to ascertain what such and such component even though you don't know the characteristics of it is doing in the circuit, based on identifying the components you do recognize along with their wiring configuration in the circuit. It's really no different than working on a PC or mac at the hardware level. While each make/model might be slightly different from the other, generally speaking, you can identify most of the components present, even if they don't look the same between the machines. -- Ain't No Woman Like the One-Eyed Gott. |
