Why do you want to punish people for working hard and becoming successful?

Why do you want to reward people for being lazy?

The one that clearly needs an intervention is your cult hero, Trump.
But it would be futile. I see his old pal The Mooch, who is the
latest to turn on him and speak the truth, now says he expects
Trump to bow out in the next few months. He says Trump will realize
he can't win and choose the alternate route. Me, I can't see that
happening. Trump would probably consider that as bad as, maybe worse
than losing. And he's so mental and narcissistic that I'm confident
he believes he will win.

That was exactly what I thought when I read what Scaramucci said. No
way will Trump back out so publicly.

Anyone paying federal income tax will most wisely vote to re-elect President Trump.
The socialist welfarecrats will vote for Bernie or your boy Biden.

Do we have more taxpayers or welfarecrats?

I pay federal taxes, and I'd vote for Madonna if she were the democratic
candidate opposing Trump.

Yes, and Trump needs to run. Trump and the GOP which has lost all
it's principles, all it's values, needs to suffer a humiliating
defeat. One that no amount of Trump lies can spin away. One
that repudiates all his lies, his stupid tweets, his racism,
his narcissism, his disrespect for the office and the country.
I say "his" but it's far worse than that, the whole GOP has
been hijacked and now they are like Patty Hearst, at best.
Despicable. It's really, really sad that it;s come to this, but it has.

Wrong focus. But it's #FAUX_NEWS, so expected.

Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

Everyone that wants to even handle a gun should go
through a thorough psych exam. Psychotics, psychopaths
and specially sociopaths are usually easy to spot.

But its much harder to work out who will end up a schizophrenic etc.
So do you propose that they be tested every week or every day etc ?

No, four years here for a pro drivers license. It will
probably detect 90% of cases. "Sudden" psychosis is very rare, it
tends to develop slowly . And sociopathy is an inborn trait, so it
doesn't just "appear". I can spot it in people that post here, and I'm
not even a psychiatrist (though I have worked as one).

Get 1% wrong, and that's 99% that can no longer murder masses
of people.Anyone caught without a psych certificate with a gun
should be thrown in jail. Preventive "medicine" saves lives.

Not with your jails which kill lots of them.

No, that happens when you give the jails to organized crime.
Mass murders have happened twice, both times when they privatized to
drug lords (and once during the '64 dictatorship, but that was to kill
political opponents, and made to look like a rebellion).

I could walk around all day with an
assault rifle and never kill anyone.
My gardener failed his psych exam
for his professional driving licence.

Fark, you lot do things very stupidly indeed.

You'd NEVER pass the test.

I thought WTF?, they got it wrong!
And then I discovered he was stealing from the house.
Not the kind of person that should own a firearm.
That underpaid State psychiatrist got it right ....

PS Bolsonaro has just done away with the former
mandatory exam. Because HE didn't pass.

And you lot were stupid enough to elect him.

No, our candidate didn't run. Two years later, Lula is STILL
in jail with no formal charges or proof of wrongdoing.

It's the taxes, stupid. Working people are tired of supporting lazy welfare people.

So he calls taxes "tariffs", and EVEN MORE STUPID people

It would be funny if it wasn't tragic.
Aldous Huxley had something to say about the "ideal

I'm a conservative, but I agree with you. The rich, the billionaires
should be paying at least at the rate that those earning $75K, $150K
pay. Carried interest and similar unfair, stupid loopholes should
be repealed. I would be in favor of a mostly flat tax, with just two
or three brackets.

I don't have a good answer, but I do like the basic idea of a flat tax
of some kind. No loopholes.

That would see the bottom HALF of taxpayers who currently
pay no federal income tax paying federal income tax.

Completely impossible to sell that to the voters.

It is bad when the billionair said he paid less tax than his secetary.

Yes but a flat tax with no loopholes isnt even politically possible.

Maybe a rate for those less than around 150,000 , one for
less than 10 million and one for those over 100 million ?

The problem isnt the tax rate, its that those on the
highest incomes can so easily show no real income.

What are you going to do about those who a stinking rich
because they own so much of the operation they created but
who don't get paid any salary at all, because they don't need one ?

Raising this ammount every time Congress gets a raise..

One other thing would be no hiring the fiamily members of
a 'nonprofit' foundation similar the the Clinton Foundation.

That would see **** all non profits.

Those foundations anc charities seem to
be a big tax shelter or maney maker of sorts.

Yes, but some do useful stuff like the Gates Foundation
and it makes no sense that Bill can't have his wife
involved in that if she is interested in that sort of thing.

Default Fox Poll-67% Say Ban Assault Rifles

I presume you're talking about Warren Buffett? He doesn't pay less tax
than his secretary. His tax rate is lower than hers because most of his
income is capital gains. He takes a salary of $100,000.

Yes, Buffett. It was the tax rate.

He must really have a good set of loopholes to get by with that.

Along the same line, I saw in the same artical that in 2009 that 51%
paid no taxes. Hard to believe that there are that many people on the
low end of the system and that a few rich find the loopholes.

Buffett lives a fairly simple lifestyle and with a salary of $100K
married filing joint, he is only paying around 10% taking the standard
deduction. He does get a lot of perks being the head of Berkshire
Hathaway so he might have trouble spending the hundred grand in
Omaha.

You think that's his only income? Like Cindy said, I expect he
has huge income from capital gains and the max rate of 20% is
what's helping him. Also, who knows if it's even true that he
pays at a lower rate than his secretary? Did they compare
actual returns or was it some comments in the coffee room?
It certainly could be true though.

The Republicans are very good at making sure the capital gains tax
structure has more holes than a ton of Swiss cheese.

Buffett probably has the company car and driver

He doesn't have either.

Source, senile asshole (other than your sick senile head)?

and many other things paid for by the company.

Or that either.

Source, senile asshole (other than your sick senile head)?

Many could live very well on the $ 100,000 if almost
everything you do is paid for by 'the company'.

But he doesn't.

Source, senile asshole (other than your sick senile head)?

Sort of like some preachers have the
house and car paid for by the church.

Nothing like given that Buffet doesn't do that.

Source, senile asshole (other than your sick senile head)?

It has been checked that Buffett said that and
other checks seem to indicate it is true.

It wasn't deferred, the money accelerated when Hillary became Sec of State. Nothing like shaking down anyone, any company, any country while you are in the position to do it. Bill's speaking fees went way up, unlike other presidents who decline years out of office. Bill even tried to give a speech in North Korea.
