Default Britain's Drax becomes world's first biomass plant to capture carbon

LONDON (Reuters) - Britains Drax has started capturing carbon dioxide
at its wood-burning power plant in North Yorkshire, a world first in
technology it hopes could lead to carbon negative power plants in the
future.

Energy companies are seeking ways to reduce carbon dioxide emissions
while also providing constant supplies of electricity when renewable
power sources, such as wind and solar are limited by the weather.

The pilot bioenergy carbon capture and storage project is expected to
capture a ton of carbon dioxide a day and Drax will also seek to find
ways to store and use the CO2 captured.

A step in the right direction for a greener planet.

That terminal stupidity...

North Yorkshire,

Completely stupid.

a world first in technology it hopes could lead to carbon negative power
plants in the future.

No one else is going to be that stupid, you watch.

Energy companies are seeking ways to reduce carbon dioxide emissions while
also providing constant supplies of electricity when renewable power
sources, such as wind and solar are limited by the weather.

The only viable way to do that is with nukes and when you have
nukes, it makes no sense to have the wind and solar as well.

The pilot bioenergy carbon capture and storage project is expected to
capture a ton of carbon dioxide a day

At a completely stupid cost.

and Drax will also seek to find ways to store and use the CO2 captured.

They should have done that before capturing it, stupid.

Nope, a completely stupid way to do things like Drax itself is.
