If DEMOCRATS are not in favor of open borders, not trying to just stick it to Trump, they would just give him the money. They lie and claim they are for border security. The $5 bil can't hurt border security, it can only help it, so WTF is the problem? And it's $5 bil in a $4 tril budget, the DEMOCRATS vote for all kinds of pork barrel, BS spending, but suddenly this small amount matters? It's not about the money, it's about the DEMOCRATS being in favor of open borders. It's incredible, post 911, but that's what the modern DEMOCRATS have become. I wonder what they will be saying if we have another 911 pulled off by people who entered across the border? It's not just Mexicans and people from Central America. People from Europe and other areas are regularly caught too. But the DEMOCRATS just don't care. Oh, I thought that it was Trump being stubborn...mea culpa :-) -- Bod Do you really think he's the one being stubborn? He campaigned and won the election on building the wall. After two years, he's gotten NOTHING towards it. His mistake was letting it go on this long. He's now asking for less than $5 bil, in a $4 tril budget! I don't see that as being stubborn. The Democrats claim they are for border security. OK, let's say this isn't necessarily the best way to do it. It certainly will increase border security, not hurt it. So, what's the problem? Two problems, the Democrats are in favor of open borders and they want to stick it to Trump. isn't the usual republican mantra that no program doesn't grow. do you really think that the 5 Billion is the issue? the real issue is that once that is spent, there'd be very little reason not to spend more...and there must be more important issues, like infrastructure |
