Red Christmas Trees in Whitehouse

Isn't it bad enough that pinocchio married a communist, but now she's
decorating and showcasing her communist heritage.

she could have had red, white and blue, but just kept it to red. shameful

I don't object necessarily to the color, but to put such
modern decorations in a fine old house like that is discordant.

Why doesn't the White House just have decorations that are used
every year, and make it a function of the permanent staff who
take care of the White House itself?

Following that theme, they should consider oil lamps for light,
fireplaces for warmth, out houses for toilets, horses for transportation
and swords or muzzle loaders for the security staff ;-)

Good one. I'd love to see POTUS on a horse.

They don't have to use the same decorations forever. Just a
reasonable number of years. And, yes, I have a conservative
streak. Who pays for the new decorations every year?

I would say because it is the house where the President and family stay
that is up to the taste of them as how to decorate . Would you like
someone to dictate how to decorate your house for the holidays ?

No, but I'm not dumb enough to run for public office. It's
The People's House, not The Trump's House.

I'm ok with them decorating the East Wing, within reason. Leave the
public spaces to the permanent staff.

The entire affair reminds me of the film Beetlejuice.

Let them do the private residence. The National Park Service owns the
Whitehouse so let them decorate it.

AT least Trump hasn't guilded the whole place in gold yet. Did you
ever see his apt in Trump Tower? Makes me want to vomit.

I have to admit, I've never paid a lot of attention to puff pieces like
that. I agree with Ed: the National Park Service should decorate the
White House. I don't even see a need for redecoration by incoming
First Ladies. Sure, a new bed because a good night's sleep is important.
But it's just furniture and paint and stuff. Who cares?

I have to deal with the NPS and I wouldn't let them decorate a doghouse.
Even when I was married the decor was early Salvation Army. My wife
wasn't into House Beautiful and I certainly wasn't.

It's not that I don't appreciate nice furnishings but it's the same way
as I like other people's dogs but not enough to get one.

So you are now the arbiter of furnishing?

How about Hillary hanging dildos and condoms from the tree? This was in a
published book by a former SS agent that transported Willy to his late night
assignations. Has never been disputed.

Melania could have solid gold Christmas trees for all the money the US
has ****ed away invading sovereign nations. You have to pick your
fights. Unfortunately the last politician I knew that didn't like
spending other people's money was Gordon Humphrey. He used to give back
the unspent portion of his office budget. How often does that happen?

I checked Wiki to see if he's still alive. Yup, and not a Trump fan either.

Were you concerned when libs were in office? I do not think so. I guess not,
because you were not concerned when Hillary took silverware and furniture on
the way out. How about all the electronic devices she destroyed? Were you
concerned then? Were you concerned when Michelle ordered the new curtains
and the fake news blamed Nikki Haley and she did not women up?
