Capacitor wire installation
I bought a capacitor that is almost the same as the old one. it has the same
capacitence 5 microfahrets and 450v, however the color of the 2 wires are not the same. the old ones are white and red. the new ones are both gray. Is there a direction to install the capacitor? -- for full context, visit https://www.homeownershub.com/mainte...n-1177803-.htm |

Is there a direction to install the capacitor? What is the application? Is the rating on the gray one AV and the other one DC? AC caps are not polarity sensitive or polarized and can be installed either way, DC caps are VERY polarity sensitive |

If it's an electrolytic cap, then those have polarity and are marked. |
