Bill Ware, like a lot of children growing up in North Carolina in the
1960s, bonded with his father while shooting a rifle. He was 7 or 8
years old when his father introduced him to firearms.

Ware no longer recognizes that sportsmanship in todays NRA, he told
Newsweek.

€œThe NRA is a rabid dog. It is a rogue outfit,€� Ware said. €œWhatever its
purposes are, they are not mine. They do not speak for me.€�
