Just me?

What's got into businesses esently? Can't get anyone to help me. Wrote
appliance repair to get oven repaired. Called and said he'd be here in the
morning. Never showed up or called. Wrote electrician for fixing open
circuit in wiring. Said he'd be here next morning twice. Never showed up or
called. Wrote MD about problem with recent prescription. No response. Wrote
phone company about noise on phone line. No response. Wrote eye specialist
about appointment. No response. All letters had phone number, mailing
address and email address. Why letters? I have old age problems hearing on
the phone, expecially women's voices, and it's sometimes hard to find an
email address. Also, sometimes email gets mistaken for spam.

Is it just me? Some nusiness's make mutilple appts and go only to those
that seem easiest, most convenient & most profitable?

Guess I would consider getting a hearing aid. I find that some people
respond best to different forms of communication, email, letter or
phone. Also unfortunately well live in a mountain of distractions with
all the junk phone calls, email and commercials and things get lost in
the static. Sometimes you have to use all means to straighten something
out. I had one the other day with a mail order prescription that
involved email, letter, communication on web portal and phone combined
to straighten out.

Real hearing aids much too expensive. The cheap ones are likely cheap for
a reason. If they were any good they wouldn't need so many full-page ads
in so many media - the good news would swiftly get around.

I know that they can cost thousands of dollars but even a cheap one
would help. I would not go too cheap though. Guy at shooting club told
me that his Walkers Game Ear was better than his hearing aid but I don't
know if he meant an expensive aid. Most phones today have volume
control also.

Are you providing a cell phone number for text messages ?
... perhaps they are texting your land line ?
When I provide my home phone number to someone for contact info -
I always state " land line - no texts ".

Thank you! I don't text so I never thought about other people doing so
when contacting me. I'll add that to my letter headings.
