Default Skillsaw - blade won't turn if nut tightened but won't cut if even loosened slightly

I have a B&D skill saw and the blade won't turn if nut tightened but won't cut
if even loosened slightly. Just here the motor shaft spinning and the blade
stays still braced against the wood. I have the blade installed correctly and
it is the right size at 7.25 inches. What might be the issue? Motor starting
to fail?

You have a B&D *circular* saw. Skilsaw (one word, one l) is the trademarked
name for a line of saws made by Skil.

and the blade won't turn if nut tightened but won't cut
if even loosened slightly. Just here the motor shaft spinning and the blade

What happens if the blade is not braced against the wood? Does it spin when
the saw is started? What happens when you spin the blade by hand? Can you
hear/feel the motor spinning along with it or does it spin freely on the shaft?

I have the blade installed correctly and it is the right size at 7.25
inches.

Did you recently change the blade? Has it ever worked with the blade that
is now giving you trouble?

Is the arbor hole size correct?

Do you leave the blade washer off? See he
