We're having a problem with the light in the bathroom & one in the bedroom
flickering/dimming. Bathroom is on a dimmer. Bedroom is the one controlled by the switch. They will dim together. We had one wall outlet go bad on the wall outside the bedroom door (just behind the wall switch that controls the bedroom light). Replacing the outlet did NOT fix the problem- but another outlet run off that box is working fine (not sure if this means anything or not). Where so I get DH to start? He's comfortable working with electricity (power lineman)- but it's like the wife of the mechanic who's car never runs, my electric isn't a high priority to him. he says he needs to look into it, but instead, tells me to keep the lights off. HELP! |

HELP! There is a loose connection somewhere in the wiring to a device, such as one of the receptacles, or a switch, or a wire nut connection. You should attend to this ASAP -- the continued arcing could burn the insulation off the wire and create a hazzardous condition, maybe a short circuit, shocking someone, and maybe even a fire. The best place to start would be between the last place in the circuit that is working properly, and then to the device that is affected by the flickering. If it has been flickering for long, there will be a burnt or blackening of the connection. Check these with the circuit off. |

Subject: Lights flickering/dimming
From: "Luckymom" BRBR Luckymom, for a moment I read, "Lights flickerdimming", and thought what a wonderful, Joycean word it was! Still do. Leslie zemedelec |
