I think there should be a literacy test and a poll tax for people to vote, as well as a copy of your income tax statement. No income tax statement, no vote. People on welfare are selling their votes which is voter fraud.

Top notch stupid idea.

So all the senior citizens that get Social Security and pay no income tax
won't be able to vote Republican?

All the earned income tax credit collectors that vote Democrat have income
tax statements.

We do have income, Social security, pension, investments, inheritance, disability plus other ways and we do have to
file.

All the earned income tax credit collectors that vote Democrat have income
tax statements.

Inheritance has nothing to do with income tax.

Most disability income is not taxable.

If seniors have such great income sources then why do 42% of men and 48% of
women claim Social secuurity at age 62?

What percentage of Social Security recipients have pensions or income
procing investments?

"Indeed, about 46 percent of senior citizens in the United States have less
than $10,000 in financial assets when they die. Most of these people rely
almost totally on Social Security payments as their only formal means of
support, according to the newly published study, co-authored by James
Poterba of MIT, Steven Venti of Dartmouth College, and David A. Wise of
Harvard University."

The average retired worker will receive $1,360 per month in 2017. Not an
amount that requires filing a tax return. And not an amount that shows a
working life of high earnings.

Having income does not mean a tax return is required.

From Intuit:

"The IRS requires you to file a tax return when your gross income exceeds
the sum of the standard deduction for your filing status plus one exemption
amount. These filing rules still apply to senior citizens who are living on
Social Security benefits. If you are a senior, however, you don't count your
Social Security income as gross income. If Social Security is your sole
source of income, then you don't need to file a tax return."

In Canada you file, regardless of income. There are tax rebates that
are derived from your income or lack there-of - property tax rebates
and GST rebates for low income seniors, etc.

You still get a tax statement every year. (SSA 1099)

Anyone working here legally here or getting any kind of legal income
gets some kind of "tax statement" whether it is a W-2 (salaried
workers) a statement from a broker of one of the various forms of
1099. There are lots of types, covering everything from various sorts
of labor and sales to interest on your bank account. The IRS is really
cracking down on off the books workers by going after the employer.
I expect places like Ebay to be sending 1099s soon.

The United States has too many lazy people looking for free cheese.
These lazy people are living off the backs of the working taxpayer. It's
time for this nonsense to stop.

Most large corporations are governed by a board of directors. The board
of directors are elected by the corporation's share holders. If you
don't own shares in the corporation, you don't get to vote for the board
of directors.

The United States is a large corporation that should be run the same
way. It should be run by a board of directors. The board of directors
should be elected by the taxpayers. If you don't pay taxes, you
shouldn't get a vote.
