Default gutter guards

The hooded gutter products (gutter covers) don't work any better than
gutter screens. They work differently, and present their own set of
problems. The only real way to know if they will work well for your
particular set of circumstances is to install them. But, it's an
expensive lesson if they don't do the job. In my view, gutter covers are
least efficient when you need gutter efficiency the most... in a heavy
downpour. With a lot of tree coverage, the small channel the rain water
is supposed to go into can get clogged easily... and frequently.

I think a quality gutter screen is the way to go, if you want to
maintain gutter efficiency and reduce the need for gutter maintenance. I
have installed a variety of different products. I prefer Steelco
screens. See http://www.gutterscreen.net .

Good luck.
