Sealing the deck ... waiting for the rain to end

About a month ago I power-washed our deck. The materials I bought suggested waiting a couple days until the deck wood had dried out thoroughly before applying a sealer. Unfortunately, here in the Midatlantic states, it hasn't stopped raining since. My question is, since I can only get one day of sunshine a week, am I doing more damage to the wood by waiting the two days? Or should I wait until the wood looks reasonably dry and roll the dice? Maybe a construction heater fan is needed to speed up the drying? I don't think it's Ok to wait. But then you need to clean the bird drops, dust and rain drops again before the sealing. |
