Heart damage is caused by years of excessive consumption of refined carbohydrates. No amount of heart medicine can repair that.

However, it is a shame when a pharmaceutical company loses one of their cash cows.

That's kind of a nasty thing to write. Many people have heart problems that have nothing to do with clogged arteries or damage due to their diet. o_O

Your statement reminds me of the anti-gun wackos who blame a murder on the gun and not the criminal. O_o

You want nasty? Try this: Two-thirds of the US population is overweight or obese. These same fat-ass people consume 80% of all health care
dollars. And if you pay federal taxes and/or your own insurance premiums, you're paying for it. Now that's nasty!

We tax cigarettes so maybe it's time we taxed refined carbohydrates.

Hell, lets pass laws that require all food be kept in time locked cabinets in homes and the condition and contents of the cabinets monitored by police.. The Food And Calorie Monitoring Agency SWAT teams could descend upon gluttons and put them in cages so their caloric intake can be controlled. People will have to go through fat check points for a BMI test and be arrested if they are found to be in noncompliance. Humm, a fat tax can be levied on the citizenry with roving teams of BMI compliance officers combing neighborhoods to catch fat-asses. The Fat Patrol would bring the national BMI index under control. A system of fat shaming can be setup so fat criminals can be put on display in a zoo like setting for crowds of people to see and taunt with Twinkies held up to the glass of the enclosures. It might be a good thing to have government control of food and each citizen would have to go to a government dispensary to get their daily ration. A chip implant or a barcode tattooed to everyone's forehead could be used to track those receiving food but of course none of that would be required of the ruling elite. ヽ(€¢€¿€¢)ノ

Nothing wrong with refined carbos in moderation. I would rather just
tax fat people.
