THE UK GOVERNMENT HAS ANNOUNCED plans to trial 'electric highways', an initiative that will allow electric car owners to travel long distances without needing to stop and charge the car's battery. They're called 'electric trains'. |

I'd like to see the math on charging 1000 cars stalled on the freeway at rush hour. And the ROI of installing the thing. And the position of the tree-huggers who are gonna oppose anything like riding a foot above a huge magnetic field. |

Wonder how this affect the steering on steel wheel cars or their steel bodies. Ask Greg Fretwell what size cable needed to power this fantasy. Who pays? Gumi, the second largest city in Korea, began in 2013. They can charge with 85% efficiency at 100kw. It means a much smaller battery and no down time. They might put chargers where buses normally sit for a few minutes, and on hills. |
