It's like green slime. You can power wash it off. It's not moss, or
algae, or ivy. We do live in the woods, but in a open area.

Green sounds like algae, but with no pics or other info, who knows.

Do you have pine trees? Pollen from them can look green.

When we lived East of Seattle, in the Douglas fir trees, their pollen
would stick to everything and then algae would grow on the pollen
particles, turning the deck, railing and house siding green. It, too,
washed off with pressure washer.

It's most likely an algae, especially since it's green.

There are slime molds but I have never seen or heard of one that
was green.

You might want to be more specific about where you live.
In the woods doesn't really tell the real experts here much.

OP need only google algae siding images to see.

I get it in shaded areas. Wash and bleach but it keeps coming back.

Often it happens on the North side of the house, lack of sun shine. It
can help to thin any large trees to allow more sunlight on the wall.

YMMV

Yup. That's the worst side and trees were thinned. Fortunately in my
case nobody but me can see it.

If I had green slime on the side on my house, I would call it the same
thing. If it is not moss, algae, or ivy.
