Too late. I already got the job. I wired the $199 for the employment
kit and it should arrive soon.

Exchange it into the official currency of India, the Indian rupee.

Good Luck on the job.

Thank, I'm going to need a big box to fit the 12,009 rupees in.

When I get my first paycheck in India, I'm going out for a steak dinner.

Several states in India are ramping up legislation to protect cows.

I'm just sayin'

Aren't cows sacred there? Is it legal to serve beef?

Oooh. Oooh. I think I found the answer to my questions.

"...In Delhi, a 1994 law banned the slaughter of cows, calves, bulls
and bullocks – but not buffalo. The 1994 ban appears to restrict
Delhi restaurants from serving beef at all – even if the meat has been
slaughtered somewhere where it is legal to do so..."

[...]

"...In West Bengal, meanwhile, it’s okay to slaughter cows, bulls and
buffaloes over the age of 14 – and therefore legal to sell and serve
that meat."

India must surely have public lands so cows can graze freely without
government interference or intrusion, no?

Fried rattlesnake tastes just like fried chicken. Not like cows that
free range on public lands.

Not only cows, but they let monkeys run free in the city. In some
places, when you move to a new home you perform a ceremony and
sprinkle cow urine in the entry. There are also many vegetarian
restaurants. Doubt you'll find a steakhouse.

I'd like to visit India for a day or so. I'd pack a lunch and be out in
time for dinner. There are some things of interest and it would be fun
to drive there for a couple of hours.

Indian food does not interest me though.

Right. The food does not curry much favor or flavor with me.

Rats are a deity or you can become a rat like a celebrity.

_Rat Temple_

At first glance, this temple in northern India looks like any other.
But this temple also houses other deities. And there's not one...not
two...but over 15,000 of them inside. Welcome to the rat temple
