This is a case where double jeopardy does not apply.

The criminal pled guilty in federal court and the military will reach
a verdict TODAY. Not sure if the ******* was sentenced in federal
court.

The Fort Hood shooter may very well get the death penalty and face
execution - he has "a fool for a lawyer".

Guilty of lesser charges could mean up to 135 years in jail.
Hope he's given a jar of Vaseline and imprisoned with the general prison
population.

He goes to our super max, under ground, inside a mountain. With the
other guys, gets a single cell, and cannot see daylight.

As if there's anything besides being on welfare or commiting gun crimes
that you can practice in Canada.

****But we hold ourselves out as BETTER than the rest of the world! Most of us grew up believing this.

Reviewing the chorus of ignorance on this thread, I wonder if ANYONE has seriously taken the trouble to go back three years and study the genesis and development of this case -- not just what the media and our totalitarian-military-secrecy state has been feeding them.

From what I read on this thread, it's a chorus of ignorance, ignorance and ignorance, and an unseemly eagerness to take the quick and easy road to find SOMEBODY to hate for what the national security state is doing to us -- ALL of us! You think they can't do it to you?!

The Founders must be spinning in their graves! What they tried to get away from under the British is catching up to us only a few hundred years later..

As to the verdict: Even the so-called "liberal" media -- meaningless term -- fell for the judge's decision not to find guilty on the two most "serious" counts. Which were put in there as deliberate preparation to gull the public into thinking Manning was getting at least partial "justice". The media bit on it, big-time.

If you plan to blow the whistle on US crimes, please learn from the missteps of the three naive martyrs who gave up home, family, and future to expose government wrong-doing. Not one word of which actually endangered what is hilariously known today as "national security".

1. Understand that you will NOT be accorded the protections of the First Amendment if your "offense" is civilian. Nor will you be accorded a fair trial under the UCMJ if military. (Review the prosecutor's case IN DETAIL, as they knowingly threw the wildest charges at the defendant, hoping some would stick.)

2. Find a country that will give you asylum -- a country that does not have extradition treaties with the U.S. and will not bow to US economical and military pressure to return an asylum seeker.

3. Get a second passport under another name. It's do-able; just ask around.

4. Leave the country, preferably with your family, BEFORE you post the evidence (like the chopper murders by US military having a big laugh as they mowed down innocent civilians on the ground).
