Can hardly find a mention of it on American news channels.
Yet hundreds are being arrested and the polic eare beating up woman
and spraying them with gas.
All reported on foriegn news channels.
Clearly th American media are inthe pockest of the rich.

JP Morgan have given the NYPD $4.6M to help with suppression of

Heh! The protest is well-covered here. I saw a "man on the street" interview
with one of the protesters. The sign-carrying marcher was a 23-year old
recent college graduate whose main complaint was he couldn't find a job.

"What was your college major?" asked the interviewer.

"I don't see how that's relevant," replied the protester.

It is not relevant. Anyone with a degree in Greek literature from 4200BC to
4100BC should be able to find the job of his dreams. Those oppressive
capitalists are just not giving him a chance.

I'm going for a bike ride today, and I'll swing by to check out the

what a braying ass you are...damn. I spoiled the surprise! ~

and spraying them with gas.
All reported on foriegn news channels.
Clearly th American media are inthe pockest of the rich.

JP Morgan have given the NYPD $4.6M to help with suppression of
dissent.

Here are thirteen demands from those occupying Wall Street presented to
Obama.

Demand one: Restoration of the living wage. This demand can only be met by
ending "Freetrade" by re-imposing trade tariffs on all imported goods
entering the American market to level the playing field for domestic family
farming and domestic manufacturing as most nations that are dumping cheap
products onto the American market have radical wage and environmental
regulation advantages. Another policy that must be instituted is raise the
minimum wage to twenty dollars an hr.

Demand two: Institute a universal single payer healthcare system. To do
this
all private insurers must be banned from the healthcare market as their
only
effect on the health of patients is to take money away from doctors, nurses
and hospitals preventing them from doing their jobs and hand that money to
wall st. investors.

Demand three: Guaranteed living wage income regardless of employment.

Demand four: Free college education.

Demand five: Begin a fast track process to bring the fossil fuel economy to
an end while at the same bringing the alternative energy economy up to
energy demand.

Demand six: One trillion dollars in infrastructure (Water, Sewer, Rail,
Roads and Bridges and Electrical Grid) spending now.

Demand seven: One trillion dollars in ecological restoration planting
forests, reestablishing wetlands and the natural flow of river systems and
decommissioning of all of America's nuclear power plants.

Demand eight: Racial and gender equal rights amendment.

Demand nine: Open borders migration. anyone can travel anywhere to work and
live.

Demand ten: Bring American elections up to international standards of a
paper ballot precinct counted and recounted in front of an independent and
party observers system.

Demand eleven: Immediate across the board debt forgiveness for all. Debt
forgiveness of sovereign debt, commercial loans, home mortgages, home
equity
loans, credit card debt, student loans and personal loans now! All debt
must
be stricken from the "Books." World Bank Loans to all Nations, Bank to Bank
Debt and all Bonds and Margin Call Debt in the stock market including all
Derivatives or Credit Default Swaps, all 65 trillion dollars of them must
also be stricken from the "Books." And I don't mean debt that is in
default,
I mean all debt on the entire planet period.

Demand twelve: Outlaw all credit reporting agencies.

Demand thirteen: Allow all workers to sign a ballot at any time during a
union organizing campaign or at any time that represents their yeah or nay
to having a union represent them in collective bargaining or to form a
union.

These demands will create so many jobs it will be completely impossible to
fill them without an open borders policy.

This one is a good example of the total ignorance
of this rag tag group of misfits and more than
enough to totally discredit them. The total
devastation of what this would do to the economy
and everyone in it is apparent to anyone with
a brain. Here are just a few examples:

Grandma has a retirement account invested 100% in
bonds. That account is now worthless.
Joe sold his house last year and took back a
mortgage, receiving a payment every month. That
mortgage is now worthless and he receives
no more payments. The guy who bought the
house is the lucky beneficiary of Joe's misfortune
and now owns the house free and clear and only
paid whatever he put down to buy it. Same
thing with the new car Bill bought on credit
last year. He owns it and the banking company,
who issued the loans is bankrupt. The folks
who happen to own stock in that banking
company, either directly or through say a
pension plan that is invested in stocks, just
lost a chunk of their pension....

Obviously the loons who came up with this
list have no grasp of even the simple examples
above about how the economy works. Yet, they
think they know how to run an economy. Go
figure.

So, let me see if I understand you - for information on a "liberal"
fringe group, you turn to a "conservative" fringe group for
information. That about sum it up?

That makes as much sense as asking Iran for information on the US. Or
asking hee haw harry for information on the US. It just _might_ have
a little spin on it, ya know? Sheesh.

The media is pointing out that there AREN'T any clear cut demands
being made. It confuses people, as illustrated by your knee-jerk
post.

This is what Occupy Wall St has to say on the matter:

Admin note: This is not an official list of demands. This is a forum
post submitted by a single user and hyped by irresponsible news/
commentary agencies like Fox News and Mises.org. This content was not
published by the OccupyWallSt.org collective, nor was it ever proposed
or agreed to on a consensus basis with the NYC General Assembly. There
is NO official list of demands."

Well, **** - that's kind of odd. ANONYMOUS posts something on an open
forum, so it MUST be true. There couldn't possibly be anyone that
would, gasp!, lie and post some bull**** to get knee-jerks riled up,
could there?

Fair and balanced means you get information from many sides and figure
out who is closest to the 'truth' of the matter. No one owns truth.

I am at a loss as to how you could read that "list of demands" and not
know INSTANTLY that it's complete and utter bull****. It's meant to
provoke and cause usually level-headed people to say things like "This
one is a good example of the total ignorance of this rag tag group of

You owe it to yourself to not succumb to such obvious disinformation,
and you owe it to other people to not promulgate that disinformation.

It works because there are so many of them. Take a penny from each poor
person and you have a LOT of money*. Take a penny from each millionaire and
you won't have nearly as much.

As one of our presidential candidates said a couple of days ago (from his
lips to God's ear): "If you're not rich, it's your own damn fault."

----
* It's pretty easy. Back during the depression an enterprising sould took
out a classified ad in The National Grange. The add read: "Keep your cow
from drooling. Full details, ten cents." Lots and lots of farmers sent him a
dime.

Each farmer got back a penny-postcard with the instructions: "Teach your cow
to spit."

It's how revolutions start.. It's not an administrators little plan.
Only takes one little incident for the violence to start.
Especially in America with all these guns.
You are where Russia was in 1916.
Leaders will emerge.

They are not misfits, they have a genuine grevance. They have not just
been failed by their goverment they have been robbed of their money
and their future.

Hah. So much for the "American Dream".
American Delusion is nearer the mark.
BTW, the rest of the world have always known you were dupes of your
system.

The rich will never giveup their wealth voluntarilly, it will have to
be taken from them by force. In America lots of force.

Some of them, sure, no arguments. But let's face it - wacko
statements make more interesting television, and without clear cut
leaders, orgnization and demands, anyone that is interviewed is going
to be giving their personal take on things.

Why would labor and teacher's unions get behind it if it's all
wackadoodles?

The Tea Party grew out some mad as hell people, and then organization
stepped in, in the guise of the Koch brothers, amongst others, and
became a game changer. And we all know what fine upstanding citizens
the Koch brothers are.
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-1...ran-sales.html

I have no problem with mad as hell people shaking the gridlock loose.
The Tea Party is represented as a populist movement, and it did start
out that way, then the deep pockets got involved as it fit in nicely
with their aims.

The Occupy Wall Street thing is also starting out as a populist
movement. No figureheads, no mouthpieces, not much of any concerted
effort - but it does seem to be drawing a lot of attention. With
organized labor and others getting behind it it could become another
game changer, or it could fizzle out. We shall see.

The main thing I appreciate about it is that it seems to be waking up
the large majority of the apathetic young non-voters. This can be
nothing but a good thing.

You didn't address the main point of my reply to your post. How could
you not instantly know that that list was a bunch of bull****, posted
by a lone wackadoodle, or a post calculated to spread disinformation?
Go back and read it again. The thing is absurd form the get go, with
a few plausible items thrown in for believability (free education for
all). So why did you buy into it?

Because the leaders of some unions are wackadoodles too.
As a leader of an organization like a union, would you affiliate
yourself with a protest that has no clear agenda or message?

they want, I'm sure not gonna be supportive.

The Tea Party is represented as a populist movement, and it did start

Even from the start, the Tea Party had a basic message

Yes, I agree. Another view is that it's the first ste[ toward
what we're seeing in Greece. Looks very similar to me as
in Greece you have a bunch of people just mad about
everything, but unwilling to back any of the necessary
steps to save the country. They're just in the streets bitching.
Some because they can't find a job. Some because they
don't like the salary cuts the govt has made. Some because
they don't like the domestic program cuts the govt is making,
etc.

The main thing I appreciate about it is that it seems to be waking up
the large majority of the apathetic young non-voters. *This can be

Not if those new voters are just as pig ignorant as all the
protesters I've seen interviewed.

You didn't address the main point of my reply to your post. *How could
you not instantly know that that list was a bunch of bull****, posted

seen the protesters give when interviewed.

Go back and read it again. *The thing is absurd form the get go, with
a few plausible items thrown in for believability (free education for

I didn't buy into it as some official position because I
know this is a rag-tag group with no consistent message.
I did think it could be at least one or more individuals
that are demonstrating or supporting them.

Fair and balanced means you get information from many sides and figure
out who is closest to the 'truth' of the matter. No one owns truth.

Some people can't fathom the idea of getting info from many sides and
formulating their own opinion.

Finally what a great day for a ride.

I was in Manhattan on Wednesday and Thursday. Met a friend on Wednesday
and we were on a mission to get a fish taco from a place on Chambers St.
we heard about. We walked down from Chinatown not thinking about the
protests only to find there was a large group assembled on Foley Square
and a "parade" on Centre going down to Park Row blocking the way so we
had to backtrack. There was absolutely no evidence of Harrys hysteria.
Just a big bunch of people making lots of noise.

is NO official list of demands."

I am at a loss as to how you could read that "list of demands" and not
know INSTANTLY that it's complete and utter bull****. It's meant to
provoke and cause usually level-headed people to say things like "This
one is a good example of the total ignorance of this rag tag group of
misfits and more than enough to totally discredit them."

You owe it to yourself to not succumb to such obvious disinformation,
and you owe it to other people to not promulgate that disinformation.

It's how revolutions start.. It's not an administrators little plan.
Only takes one little incident for the violence to start.
Especially in America with all these guns.
You are where Russia was in 1916.
Leaders will emerge.

LOL. You are clueless.

I wouldn't expect anything else from a bitter person who gets up every
morning and goes to bed every night hating the US and likely doesn't
even know why...

Why would labor and teacher's unions get behind it if it's all
wackadoodles?

Because those two groups are comprised of a lot of wackadoodles.

The thing is absurd form the get go, with
a few plausible items thrown in for believability (free education for
all). So why did you buy into it?

Make that free education for all, including illegal aliens, with a heavy
bias towards ANY minority to the exclusion of legal citizen students who
actually test higher.

What was the name of the med student who got bumped and had high scores?
Banke?

I don't know. But you do know that the "list of demands" is a bunch
of bull**** from some anonymous poster, right? So why do you bring it
up?

Sorry, you were the one who posted it. Do try to keep up.

And I knew their demands were bull**** days ago. What took you so long?

Okay - fair enough, Ed. Please point out a group that is not
comprised of a lot of wackadoodles. For the life of me I can't think
of a single one that's not.

From my standpoint, everyone is a wackadoodle about something. To
totally dismiss a valid point because someone has some views that
differ from your own is naive and self-defeating. It leads to
atrocities...like our current excuse for a Congress. As if they even
know what the word congress means and where it came from!

OT PS I checked out your fotografie d'Italia - nice going! But do me
a favor and stop posting pictures that make me hungry. That's hitting
below the belt...or just above it - in either case it's fightin'
dirty.

I saw you did go to Paestum. You picked a great time of year to visit
- all the crowds are gone and the weather is still excellent. When I
was living in Italy thirty years ago, I jumped the fence with a couple
of friends and we slept in the Temple of Poseidon/Hera II. It was a
warm night, clouds floating in front of a full Moon, and dogs howling
at it. We took walks through the ruins. Truly a magical experience.
Now...? We'd probably get shot doing it.
