More on wind turbines
They've entered the mainstream. The winner of this year's Bulwer-Lytton*
fiction contest penned: "Cheryl’s mind turned like the vanes of a wind-powered turbine, chopping her sparrow-like thoughts into bloody pieces that fell onto a growing pile of forgotten memories." This 26-word sentence is the shortest grand prize winner in the contest's history. http://www.bulwer-lytton.com/2011.htm ------- * The contest is for the worst opening sentence to a novel. One of my favorites from years past: "The senator must have really tied one on last night," said Sheriff Doppelganger, "as he was last seen leaving the party near midnight and this morning his car was found in the smokestack of a British aircraft carrier in the Formosa Straits." |
