what is the name of the filtering system, where to purchase, when refilling a swimming
pool after marcite job?

the purpose of the filter is just one use, to remove all trace minerals from tap
water, it reduces need for chemical balancing as water will be cleaner for the full
fillup of about 15,000 gallons

can one purchase this from a pool store online, water quality or equipment maker?

something that I can attach to end of garden hose and let the pool fill up overnight.

tried dozens of combinations around name of city and water quality and could not
locate a single name of business

plastering company is not aware of anyone as all they do is the marcite and rest is up
to me

surely this thing has a name/brand ?

It seems incredible to me that a contractor that refinishes a pool
can't tell you what the correct procedure is to refill it with water
so that the job doesn't get ruined. IMO, they must be one half-assed
outfit or is this the first job they ever did?

What might need to be done would depend on what is in your water. If
it's municipal water, the water utility will have reports that show
test results. It;s possible the water is perfectly fine and doesn't
need any treatment. If it is muni water, I'd get the report and show
it to your contractor and ask them if the water is OK as is.

If it's well water, you could ask a local pool store to test it for
you and make sure they test if for whatever the genius contractor
tells you to look out for, which I suspect would be iron, other
minerals. You could also send it out to a lab for testing. Then
you'll know what you have and if and how to treat it.

I'm no expert on marcite, but it would seem to me that you could fill
the pool and apply the appropriate treatments to the pool as it;s
being filled using the normal filtering system.
