Radon mitigation follow-up

Thanks to everyone for their input on my post from 9/29. Thought you might
like to know how the company visits went.

3 quotes
2 companies came to my house.
1 gave me a price over the phone. They didn't think they needed to come to
my house (???) $850.00

First guy wanted to do diagnostics to see if radon mitigation would actually
work. Thought it wouldn't work because I have a sump pump and if there was
water 2 feet under the slab. $500.00 for diagnostics. The news that we
probably couldn't remediate the radon got me a little freaked. He then
proceeded to tell me the pipe had to go to soil under the slab. Then I knew
he was a whacked.

Second guy...local, friendly, thought the first guy was wrong. Offered
guarantee to reduce radon to 4, showed me exactly how he would run the pipe
and where the hole would be drilled. I need to run the electrical for the
fan. $750.00

Hired the second guy.
